DARLENE YOUNG
Baltimore Album Workshop $75
February 29 10am-4pm
Join us for an all day workshop and luncheon with Blue ribbon winner Darlene Young. She would love to teach you some of the history and techniques needed to create a Baltimore Album Sampler. This is a specialty appliqué that embellishes the project with thread, ribbon, buttons and other adornments. Trunk show included.

Get ready to unleash your inner quilting Diva. This class is for the new quilter and will teach you pattern and fabric selection, quilting terms, tools used and basic blocks used in quilting. Once you start, you’ll have a hobby for a lifetime. Workbook included. This is a four week class.

Just as a frame finishes the picture, so does the binding finish the quilt. In this class we will show you how simple it is to bind your quilt for a fabulous finish to your quilted treasure. One hour class with handout.

Intimidated by just the thought? Don’t be. We will show you just how easy it is to achieve the perfect points and intricate patterns that only paper piecing can achieve. In this class you will make the Crazy Patch Heart for Valentine’s Day. Pattern included
Appliqué Techniques $35

Have you wondered if you might enjoy appliqué? Can’t decide if you would have more success with machine or hand techniques? Well this class is for you. We will introduce you to the basics of both, their similarities and their differences.
Long Arm Quilting $60
By appointment with Karen Benke
Karen will teach the “care and feeding” on the long arm machine, how to mount your quilt and basic machine quilting. Two class session, 2 hours beginning instruction and 1 hour practice on your own project.

Flannel Raggy Quilt $25

Jan loves to make raggy quilts and she thinks everyone else should, too! The beauty of a raggy quilt is that you can make it any size and when you’re done piecing the blocks, you’re done with the quilt. Let Jan show you how simple it is to design and sew a cozy flannel quilt. Pattern included.
The Pointless Wonder $25

The name doesn’t lie. Star blocks, all over the quilt, with no points to worry about at the seams. This quilt looks great in every fabric style – Christmas, bright colors, batiks, etc. The stars are constructed simultaneously, so piecing goes quickly. This quilt is beginner friendly and fun to make. Pattern required.
The Wave $25

Create a wave with fabric. Combine some strips using a little strip piecing to make either a large or small throw quilt. This is wonderful way to use your most beautiful batiks. French Braid Transformation book required.

Hmm… How can I use those delectable Tonga Treats? Make a Japanese Jigsaw! KC figured out how to make Tracy Brookshier’s pattern even easier and make the quilt a little bigger. You CAN make a quilt in no time at all that will have everyone wondering “how did she do that?” Pattern and tool required.
Tea Garden $25

Cut some strips, piece two simple blocks. Karen Sullivan will show you how to combine them to create a vibrant garden. Mix and match some floral fabrics and some leaf fabrics for an organized scrappy garden of blooms. Pattern required.
Log Cabins and Flowers $25

Make square and rectangular log cabins, accent with some flowers, and you will have a charming throw quilt. Cheryl will show you how simple it is. Use the pattern from your APQ 2012 Calendar required.

Make a showcasing for that floral oriental panel you have in your stash or use the new Sakura panel. This quilt allows you to showcase the panel without cutting it apart. You just add some highlights on the side when you fussy cut the companion floral fabric. Pattern required.

BOM, Guilds and Clubs
Pony Express Sampler BOM $15/month
3rd Monday of the month, 10:30 am, 13 month program

Books and ruler are $75.00. Fabric includes the backing and binding too! Each block was designed by Jodie Barrows to depict a different aspect of the famed Pony Express. We will be kitting up warm, country tones of Kansas Troubles and Thimbleberries.
Snowman Paper Dolls BOM $8/month
3rd Tuesday of the month, 10:30 am, 10 month program
Teacher: Karen Sullivan
Designed by local quilter, Ruth Anne Benge, these whimsical, appliquéd snowmen will make you smile every time you look at them. The wall hanging will finish at 39” square or you could add some sashing to make it bigger.
Ripples and Reflections BOM $20/month

The pattern is $29.95. Almost a mystery quilt as blocks are assembled and joined together in different months. This King size quilt, which finishes at 90” x 100”, features vibrant jewel tone batiks from Hoffman Fabrics.
Kansas Troubles Club Free
3rd Tuesday of month, 1:00pm
If you are a Kansas Troubles fan, this is the club for you. Join in the fun to make a queen size quilt using the 2012 BOM pattern – Bird’s Eye View. The quilt uses a variety of techniques and materials – piecing, paper piecing, fabric and wool appliqué, and various embellishments. You will need to purchase the pattern to make this project. You may bring fabric from your stash or add new ones available at the shop.
Fire House Quilters (A Guild with a Purpose)
2nd Tuesday of the month, 10am
Visitors are welcome to see what the guild is all about and join if you like what they are about! This guild meets at Little Red Quilt House.
Loose Thread Machine Quilters Guild
4th Wednesday of the month, 630pm
The focus of this guild is to promote machine quilting and teach techniques to improve your skills. Visitors are welcome and membership is open if you care to join the guild.
I Like Mine with Lettuce and Tomato
Every Monday, 10:00 am – 7:00 pm Free
Join us every Monday to sew whatever you wish. The shop staff is available to help you if needed. We break at lunchtime for salad luncheon. The shop provides the lettuce and tomato; we ask that you bring a topping to share.
Proverbs 31 Women’s Group
Friday afternoons are set aside to sew quilts for others less fortunate. Fabric has been donated to the shop; you provide the time and talent. You may even learn something new!
